Firenzecard: reviews, €85/72h and when it is worth it

Firenzecard is the city museum pass managed under Firenze Smart / Silfi: €85 for 72 hours, with access to about 60 museums/card sites on the circuit. Two-sentence verdict. Worth it only if in 72 hours you really fill many sites (Uffizi, Accademia, civic, minor); if you only do Uffizi+Pitti+Boboli, PassePartout at €40 is mathematically better. Cons: Duomo excluded, no transport, mandatory free bookings on five key attractions, and GYG resales at €94. For intense three-day itineraries; not for anyone «buying the card for safety» without a calendar.

What it sells and at what price

The core product is the €85 / 72h card. From 1 March 2026 Restart at €28 for +48 paid hours is active: it only makes sense if you are already in the city and really extending the circuit, not as a checkout «default». On GetYourGuide the same card was resold at €94: you are paying intermediation, not an extra museum benefit.

What it does not include: the Duomo complex (Dome/Baptistery go on tickets.duomo.firenze.it) and transport. Anyone buying the card «to get around» has the wrong product. For anyone visiting only the Uffizi–Pitti–Boboli pole, PassePartout at €40 remains the more rational purchase versus €85.

Activation and withdrawal: if the card is not yet activated, the 14-day withdrawal right applies (consumer frame indicated in the dossier). After activation, the logic is a timed pass: use it or lose the hours.

How booking works

1. Buy on the official Firenzecard / Firenze Smart channel at €85 (avoid GYG €94 unless you need their checkout).
2. Activate only when you are ready to start the 72 hours.
3. Book free mandatory slots: Uffizi, Accademia, Palazzo Vecchio, Torre di Arnolfo, Brancacci.
4. For Accademia, phone 055 294883 often remains the practical cardholder booking channel.
5. Evaluate Restart (€28) only near expiry if you really need +48h.

Without those bookings, the card «includes» museums you may not enter in the desired slot. It is not all-you-can-visit without queues: it is a subscription to entries that still requires calendar management.

Cancellation, refunds, support

What the reviews say

The dossier does not assign a single high-volume «Firenzecard» Trustpilot: public judgement is read indirectly from those who criticise value when visiting few museums, and from those who use it well on dense itineraries. The objective comparison stays numerical: €85 vs €40 PassePartout vs €94 GYG. Affiliate sites like FlorencePasses that show the card at €94 without explaining the official markup create deliberate confusion about the «list» price.

Pros and cons

Pros: one payment for ~60 sites; optional Restart; 14-day withdrawal if not activated; useful on intense weekends.

Cons: expensive if you do few museums; Duomo and transport out; mandatory bookings; GYG at €94; Accademia often still via phone.

Firenzecard should be planned as a timed subscription, not a digital souvenir. In the 72 hours opening hours, security times and mandatory bookings matter: anyone who «activates as soon as they leave the train» burns the first morning on logistics. Better to activate after already locking Uffizi, Accademia, Palazzo Vecchio, Tower and Brancacci. The 055 294883 phone for Accademia cardholders remains an operational detail many generic guides forget.

Restart at €28 (+48h) from 01/03/2026 is a valve, not a reason to buy a «longer» card. If you already know you need five days on the Uffizi–Pitti–Boboli pole alone, PassePartout at €40 remains more rational than €85. If the calendar instead includes civic, minor and more GAMB/Uffizi sites, then €85 can amortise — still without Duomo and without bus.

GYG resale at €94 is the textbook case of useless markup: same card, more intermediation. Affiliate sites that present €94 as the «Florence» price without citing official €85 create an information asymmetry. Use the 14-day withdrawal only if you have not activated: after activation time runs and support (info@firenzecard.it / +39 055 000) does not turn the card into an open refundable voucher.
