Florence Pass and Firenze Card: tickets, prices, hours, when it pays

If you are weighing a Florence Pass, a florence museum pass or the Firenze Card museums, start with the numbers: official Firenze Card €85 for 72 hours, Tiqets The Florence Pass from €92.50 (or €88.50 in the new version), 5-day PassePartout €40, Uffizi & Accademia combo from €69.50. None of these products is “the best” in absolute terms: what matters is how many museums you visit, whether you need the Dome and how much time you have.

Florence Pass, Firenze Card and cumulatives: what you are buying

Four products answer different questions.

Firenze Card (€85). Only public pass (Firenze Smart / City). Over 60 museums, one visit each, entry + temporary exhibitions + booking included. Valid 72 hours from first entry. Named, non-transferable. Under-18 household members free if associated. Physical format (city pick-up) or digital in app. Does not include Duomo, transport, Vasari Corridor.

The Florence Pass (Tiqets). Commercial package: Uffizi + Accademia + Duomo option (Cathedral tour, Bell Tower/Baptistery or — in the historic version — Dome at a surcharge). Not a timed card: you choose dates and bands for each component. From €92.50 (p1013858) or €88.50 (p1136354). Non-refundable.

PassePartout 5 Days (€40). Official Gallerie degli Uffizi cumulative: one access to Uffizi, Pitti and Boboli in five consecutive days. Priority; booking only Uffizi as first museum.

Uffizi & Accademia Combo (from €69.50). Two reserved entries in one order; often with app audioguide. Useful if you do not need a timed card and only want the two most requested museums.

Firenze Card €85: honest break-even

Assumption: adult, tickets with booking (the card includes booking fees).

Practical notes:

• The most common case (only Uffizi + Accademia) does not pay for the card: better official singles or a combo.
• Typical break-even: about four major museums in three days.
• Under-18 minors are already free at state museums and Palazzo Vecchio: the card’s “minors free” mainly saves booking fees.
• Always add €30 if you want the Dome (Brunelleschi Pass).
• Restart at €28 (+48 h) only makes sense if ≥2 important museums remain.

Main museums included (official list): Uffizi, Accademia, Pitti/Boboli, Palazzo Vecchio and Tower, Brancacci, Bargello, Medici Chapels, San Marco, Galileo, Novecento, Bardini, Medici Riccardi, Strozzi, Santa Maria Novella, Santa Croce, Orsanmichele, Innocenti, Casa Buonarroti, Synagogue, and many others. Sheet count: 60.

Free mandatory bookings with card: Uffizi, Accademia, Palazzo Vecchio, Torre di Arnolfo, Brancacci, Medici Riccardi. Anyone accompanying a cardholder without a card can pay only €4 booking at reserved Uffizi/Accademia entries.

The Florence Pass €92.50 / €88.50: when it makes sense

Two SKUs under the same commercial name:

Versus official: Uffizi €29 + Accademia €24 + Giotto Pass €20 = €73. Against €92.50 you pay about €20 for one checkout, audioguide (where included) and slots when official is sold out. If you need the Dome and the chosen variant does not have it, add Brunelleschi separately anyway — and the advantage shrinks.

Uffizi & Accademia Combo from €69.50

The Reserved Entry Combo product (Tiqets) starts at €69.50 (rating 4.2/5 on 872 reviews at verification). Includes Uffizi + Accademia variants and often an audio app. Official sum: €29 + €24 = €53. Typical difference: about €16.50 more for availability and audio. It is not a Firenze Card: no 72-hour validity, only the chosen dates.

PassePartout €40: the strongest “short” pass

If your plan is Uffizi + Palazzo Pitti + Boboli and nothing else, stop looking at city passes. The official 5 Days PassePartout costs €40 (€58 with Vasari). Valid five consecutive days (extended by one day if the period includes a Monday closure, 25 December or 1 January). One access per museum. Entry priority. Mandatory booking only Uffizi, first museum in the sequence, Gate 3 fifteen minutes early.

Tiqets resale of the same scheme costs €45 (5-day Uffizi–Pitti–Boboli pass). Five euros more for platform convenience; the official channel remains the benchmark.

Related annual subscriptions (if you stay in Florence long): annual PassePartout €80, Family €120, Boboli only €25; Amici degli Uffizi ordinary €80 / family €120. Priority not valid on free days.

Turbopass and Firenze Card resales

Turbopass Florence City Pass: 22 declared attractions (Uffizi, Accademia, San Marco, Innocenti, Archaeological, Opificio, Casa Buonarroti, Synagogue, tours, bike, hop-on as add-on, etc.). Does not include Palazzo Vecchio, Pitti, Boboli or Florence Duomo. Adult prices from official JSON-LD: €93.90 (1 day) … €153.90 (7 days). Cancellation: special Florence fee €40 per pass; under 24 h from start date, no refund. With Uffizi €29 + Accademia €24 = €53 official, the pass only makes sense if you really use many of the other 20 items.

How to choose in thirty seconds

1. Only Uffizi + Pitti + Boboli → PassePartout €40.
2. Only Uffizi + Accademia → official singles (€53) or combo if you need slots/audio.
3. Four+ museums in 72 h, no Dome → Firenze Card €85.
4. Uffizi + Accademia + Duomo component in one checkout → The Florence Pass €88.50–€92.50, checking whether the Dome is among options.
5. Many minor attractions + hop-on → consider Turbopass, aware Duomo/Pitti are absent.

Where to buy and collect the Firenze Card

Online on firenzecard.it (voucher + ID) or at ticket desks: Cappella Brancacci (piazza del Carmine 14), Santa Maria Novella (piazza Stazione 5), Museo di Palazzo Vecchio, Bargello (via del Proconsolo 4), Museo Bardini, Palazzo Strozzi, Museo Novecento, Firenze Welcome Center / Tourist InfoPoint Cavour, Museo della Misericordia (piazza Duomo 20). Not mailed. App: iOS ≥ 16, Android ≥ 11.

Activation: within six months of purchase; the 72-hour timer starts at first entry. Withdrawal within 14 days if not activated/personalised (Consumer Code art. 52); after that, no refund. What is NOT on the Firenze Card (and why it matters)

The Duomo complex is missing entirely: the only “Opera del Duomo” on the card list is Prato’s, not Santa Maria del Fiore. If the Dome is a priority, add €30 (Brunelleschi) or choose a Florence Pass that truly includes it in the variant. Urban transport is no longer an add-on: AT ticket €2 / 90 minutes (bus + tram). Vasari Corridor stays at €20 supplement with mandatory booking even for associated minors.

On the first Sundays of the month state museums are free: card priority does not apply and queues are long. If you already paid €85, better use booked weekday slots.

Sample three-day itinerary with card

Day 1. Uffizi (morning slot, priority door) + Palazzo Vecchio or Bargello in the afternoon. Day 2. Accademia (dedicated slot) + Medici Chapels + San Marco (short hours: last entry 12:45). Day 3. Pitti + Boboli in the morning; Santa Croce or Santa Maria Novella in the afternoon; optional Galileo or Novecento if energy remains.

Three full days are the minimum to “amortise” €85. If you arrive at lunch on day 1 and leave morning of day 3, the 72 hours burn fast: activate the card at the first useful museum, not at hotel check-in.

Itinerary without card (Uffizi area only)

Buy PassePartout €40, book Uffizi as first entry, dedicate the next day to Pitti and Boboli. Add Brunelleschi €30 on a third day if you want the Dome. Typical adult total: €70 versus €85 + €30 = €115 if you used card + Duomo. Here the card loses clearly.

The Florence Pass: how checkout works

Choose date and participants, then for each component select the variant and the still-available slot (“subject to availability”). Tickets arrive by email / smartphone, instant delivery. There is no “single pass time”: if Uffizi is at 9:00 and Accademia at 10:00, you create the conflict. Leave at least three hours between the two big museums; for the Dome start in the morning with fresh legs.

Rating and volume: the €92.50 version shows about 3.9/5 on 2,548 reviews in the feed; the €88.50 version at verification did not yet have consolidated reviews. Both show as non-refundable (cancellation.policy: never in the API at check time). If you need flexibility, consider GetYourGuide products with 24 h cancellation — often at a higher cost.

Recurring pass mistakes

Buying the card thinking you “skip the line” without booking Uffizi/Accademia. Forgetting the Duomo. Activating the card on a minor museum the evening you arrive and losing half a day of the timer. Comparing Turbopass with the Firenze Card without reading exclusions (Pitti and Duomo absent). Paying €69 for a “premium” Dome when official Brunelleschi costs €30. Using the new Florence Pass expecting the Dome: in the €88.50 version it is not among the options.

GAMB cumulatives as a “short” alternative

If your axis is Michelangelo–sculpture: Accademia + Bargello 48 h at €26, or six GAMB museums 72 h at €38 (+ booking fee at checkout). Separately Accademia €20 + Bargello €12 = €32: the 48 h saves €6. Add Medici Chapels €11, Orsanmichele €10, Davanzati €8 and the 72 h at €38 becomes competitive versus the €85 card — without Uffizi or Pitti, though.

Casa Martelli is closed for works until further notice: do not count it in the six-museum tally until the official sheet reopens it. Orsanmichele hours 8:30–18:30, slightly different from other GAMB venues (8:15–18:50): align slots if you combine several entries the same afternoon. The Secret Room at the Medici Chapels (€32, max four people, fifteen minutes) is a separate extra: the Firenze Card does not replace it if it is not in the venue’s standard route.
