Turbopass reviews: Florence City Pass, prices and is it worth it?

Turbopass GmbH (Niederwall 53, 33602 Bielefeld, VAT DE290395711, Amtsgericht Hamburg HRB 127904) sells city passes across Europe. The Florence City Pass lists 22 attractions with Uffizi and Accademia timed booking included in the pass mechanism — but it is not a public title and does not include the Duomo complex. The only public pass remains Firenzecard.

Opening verdict. With official Uffizi+Accademia ≈€53, one day at €93.90 pays off only by stacking many minor sites. €40 cancellation penalty and weak TripAdvisor weigh against it. We are not affiliated with Turbopass.

Rough break-even without marketing: Uffizi advance €29 + Accademia €24 = €53. On a 1-day pass at €93.90 you have ~€41 of «value» to fill with San Marco, Innocenti, Archaeological, Opificio, Casa Buonarroti, Synagogue, walking/bike etc. If you do not do at least two or three extra sites the same day, you are giving away margin. The 3-day pass at €113.90 widens the window but does not include the Duomo: the Dome still costs €30 official (or more on resellers). Hop-on hop-off 24 h is an add-on; audio included only on the bus. On GetYourGuide the pass appears ~€93.90 with ★3.5 / 44 reviews in the site feed.

How booking works

Online purchase → activation on chosen date → Turbopass manages Uffizi/Accademia slots. Payments Adyen, PayPal, Klarna. No phone in imprint: email only. Claudio Bellinzona (Musement co-founder) CEO from March 2025; David Schelp from May 2026 — the public imprint may not reflect leadership changes immediately; company register is authoritative for structure.

Cancellation, refunds, support

T&Cs: cancellations only if the pass has not been used, no ticket created and no reservation made. Florence City Pass: €40 per pass penalty «as Turbopass has made advance payments». Requests less than 24 hours from start date: zero refund. German law, Hamburg forum. It is a product almost as rigid as a museum ticket, but at a higher list price.

Global Trustpilot 4.0/5 on 4,925 (56% five stars, 13% one star; claimed profile). TripAdvisor «Turbopass I Florence» 3.2/5 on 9 — small sample but consistent with forums. Recurring complaints (Trustpilot Sep 2026, Rick Steves, TA): value for money («roughly half the Turbopass fee when booked independently»), missing confirmation after payment, Uffizi ticket collection at third-party offices («Slowtoures») with deferrals, slow support, unhelpful hop-on driver. Global Turbopass reviews at 4.0 do not cancel the weak local Florence signal.

When to choose Turbopass (and when not)

Choose it only with a «museum marathon» itinerary: ≥3 museums beyond Uffizi+Accademia and without counting the Duomo. If the Dome is mandatory, already add €30 official to the spreadsheet. For 2–3 big attractions prefer official singles or Firenzecard. If you only want Uffizi+Pitti+Boboli, PassePartout €40 beats any commercial city pass. Family reduced: ask for amounts before counting — FAQs only say «reduced price».

Scenario A — one day, Uffizi + Accademia + San Marco + Innocenti. Pass €93.90 vs ~€53 + two minor entries: you can approach break-even if slots work and you do not lose time on confusing pickups. Scenario B — three days with Dome. Pass €113.90 + Brunelleschi €30 = already €143.90 before Pitti/Bargello (often outside perceived value). Firenzecard €85 + Brunelleschi €30 = €115 with many more civic museums — compare on the Florence Pass hub. Scenario C — only Uffizi and David. Official singles €53; 1-day pass is a wrong turn. €40 penalty deep-dive

The €40 cancellation penalty on the Florence City Pass signals advance allotment costs. Practical translation: do not buy the pass «for safety» if dates are fluid. Better refundable OTA singles or non-refundable but cheaper official tickets. Without Duomo in the package, many postcard itineraries stay out: Dome separately, always.
