Tickitaly reviews: reliability, Accademia prices and no-refund policy

Tickitaly has operated since about 2002–2003 as Tickitaly – Renting In Italy S.r.l. (Via Curtatone e Montanara 14, 50053 Empoli FI, VAT 05144650487), a travel agency registered with the Florence Chamber of Commerce, responsible person Dr. Cristiano Castellani. They claim over 140,000 tickets/year. It is an Italian contact with phone and office, not an offshore clone — but it is not the Uffizi, Accademia or Duomo ticket office.

Opening verdict. Makes sense only if you need a museum they still allot and accept markup + zero refunds. As of 22/09/2026 Uffizi is not on sale. We are not affiliated with Tickitaly.

Homepage «David… Prices from €18»: on the real calendar (sample date 25/09/2026) adult €30.00, EU 18–24 reduced €11.00, free with fee €8.50 — against €24 official (€20+€4). Booking fee admitted in words («total charge includes booking fee») but never quantified in euros. Uffizi: explicit message «we are not currently supplying tickets to the Uffizi» — effect of the move to CoopCulture (13/10/2025) and end of B2B allotment. For Uffizi use the official channel or OTAs with stock.

Other titles: Medici Chapels €18.50, Bargello €19.50, Palazzo Vecchio often only as guided tour at €33. Brunelleschi/Duomo: zero dates available in the verified period. Slogan «All prices are displayed in full — no additional charges on-site»: true in the sense that the fee is already in the total, not that there is no markup.

How booking works

Online form → email confirmation → often a paid-in-full voucher to collect, not only a mobile QR. Read the confirmation: confusing voucher and ticket is a recurring forum theme. Email support cited as fast in own reviews; Empoli office hours, not 24/7 chat. Phone +39 0571 981064.

Cancellation, refunds, support

Terms: «Once the form has been submitted I understand that no refunds are possible»; changes not guaranteed and with admin fees; no declared liability for strikes/closures of state museums. If you need 24 h flexibility, this is not the platform.

The proprietary 4.6/5 system on thousands of clients is not Trustpilot. Domain Trustpilot: 404. Verified TripAdvisor: 2.6/5 on 8 reviews, #385 of 705 in Milan. TripAdvisor threads «Tickitaly is a Scam» / «Dont buy tickets at tickitaly.com» and Rick Steves posts repeat «10+ euro» markups, voucher confusion, unhelpful support on changes — they do not prove corporate fraud (VAT and HQ exist), but they explain the frustration. When to choose Tickitaly (and when not)

Choose it only if Accademia/Bargello/Chapels are sold out on official channels, if you accept about six–eight euros of delta and know you cannot cancel. Avoid it if you want Uffizi, Dome, instant mobile ticket or 24 h cancel. The voucher model made more sense when B2B allotments were wide; after CoopCulture the useful catalogue has shrunk.

Tickitaly reviews mix a real agency with hard policies. After 13/10/2025 (Uffizi → CoopCulture) Tickitaly states it no longer supplies those entries: useful transparency, reduced catalogue. Anyone still searching «Tickitaly Uffizi» hits a dead end — use tickets.uffizi.it.

Uffizi disappearing from the Tickitaly list is the clearest signal of the new allotment regime. Local agencies that lived on B2B quotas must fall back on Accademia/GAMB and tours. For the 2026 traveller that means: do not open Tickitaly looking for Botticelli. Open tickets.uffizi.it. On Accademia, compare €30 Tickitaly with €24 B-ticket and decide whether the implied fee is worth Empoli phone support.
